Rosemary Salvucci

About rosIE

Rosie Salvucci is an accomplished double bassist with a diverse international career spanning orchestral, chamber, and historical performance. With expertise in both modern and historical performance practices, she has collaborated with leading ensembles and orchestras across Europe and North America. She is currently the bassist for the scheme of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment in London and has performed with renowned orchestras such as the WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln, Ensemble Resonanz, Philharmonie Luxembourg, and Helsinki Philharmonic, among many others. She is a regular guest musician with Mecklenburgische Staatskapelle Schwerin, Ensemble Resonanz, and Brandenburger Symphoniker. Her passion for historical performance led her to pursue studies in Early Music/Violone at the Universität der Künste Berlin. She also served as Solo Bassist in the Orchestra Academy of Teatro alla Scala in Milan, further deepening her orchestral experience. She holds a Master’s degree from the Hochschule für Musik der Stadt Basel and a Bachelor of Music from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, where she graduated cum laude, with Distinction in Research and Creative Work. Rosie attended the Walnut Hill School for the Arts and graduated with honors from New England Conservatory’s Preparatory Program. She speaks English, Spanish, German, some French, and some Italian, which helps her connect with musicians and audiences across different cultures.

Rosie Salvucci is a sought-after recording artist, with recent commercial recording projects including works with Warner Classics Korea, Onyx, and Deutsche Gramophone. Her playing can be heard in movies and television including Arcane, Star Trek Discovery, Pokemon Sky, Spook Me 2, We Were the Lucky Ones, and Der InsasseHer recording of Cinq Bagatelles for bassoon and double bass by Alexandre Ouzounoff with Scott Pool is scheduled for release in Fall 2026. An active festival performer, Rosie has appeared at the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Beethovenfest Bonn, Telemann Festival, Aldeburgh Music Festival, Schlossfestspiele Ludwigsburg, Pacific Music Festival, and Music Academy of the West, among others.
